What makes a good DT student at Sacred Heart
A passion for creativity, using research and prototypes to design and evaluate their work successfully and adapt their design to their findings. Trying to create new things and experiment with materials to produce the best quality product possible.
About Our Vision for Design Technology
At Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School all children will be taught to develop their creative, technical and practical expertise needed to perform everyday design and technology tasks, confidently and enthusiastically, to help them to participate successfully in an ever increasingly technological world.
They will build and apply a repertoire of knowledge, understanding and skills in order to design and make high-quality prototypes and products for a wide range of users and will be able to critique, evaluate and test their ideas and products and the work of others and that they children will understand and apply the principles of nutrition and learn how to cook a range of recipes using the correct tools safely and confidently.
At Sacred Heart we strive to teach design and technology that will excite, enthuse and grow our children creatively with passion towards a bright future.
In September 2018 we developed a new and dynamic design technology curriculum that develops skills and knowledge alongside other areas of the curriculum as well improving the children’s knowledge and understanding of artists, designers, sculptors and architects.
