Catholic Social Teaching
at Sacred Heart Primary School

Catholic Social Teaching is our moral compass, guiding us on how to live out our faith in the world. Our faith calls us to love God and to love our neighbours in every situation, especially our sisters and brothers living in poverty. Following in the footsteps of Christ, we hope to make present in our unjust and broken world, the justice, love and peace of God.  

There are 9 key values of Catholic Social Teaching and to support our children’s understanding of each of these values, they have been linked to an animal. Each year group across our school has one of these animals as their class mascot; a cuddly toy of this animal is present on Prayer and Liturgy tables. As well as this, each animal and value has its own prayer and song which has also been adopted by each of our classes.
