General Childhood Illness

Families can sometimes be unsure about when their children should be kept off school if they are unwell.

Below is a really helpful website which goes through the main childhood illnesses, explaining what you should do and when to get medical advice. It also tells you when your child needs to stay at home and when they can go to school.

Is My Child Too Ill For School?

If your child has been prescribed medication that they need to take during the school day, in order to administer it we must have:

  • A completed and signed written consent form. Please see the downloadable form below or speak to the Office for a copy.

  • Medication in its original packaging with the Chemist’s dispensing label (with the child’s name) on the medication or the packaging.

Medication must be handed into the School Office.
